Team Shenandoah students and teachers at Georgia Morse Middle School in Pierre have completed their second community service project of the school year.
The teachers on Team Shenandoah wanted to instill the tradition of giving back to the community, so they challenged their students to donate to the local elementary schools. “Keeping Kids Warm” this winter season was goal of the students’ donations of gloves, hats and scarves. Team Shenandoah donated a total of 181 items to the elementary schools. Items were individually wrapped and included a positive message such as “Be Brave, Be Creative, Be Kind, Be Thankful, Be Happy, BE YOU!”
In October, Team Shenandoah students donated roughly 260 toilet paper rolls and 140 paper towel rolls to the Missouri Shores Domestic Violence Center.
