Battlers Sweep Stanley County in Basketball DoubleHeader

GETTYSBURG, S.D. – The Potter County Battlers girls basketball team jumped out a 33-11 halftime lead and went on to cruise to a 62-34 win over Stanley County Tuesday night in Gettysburg. Jenna Robbenholt eruped tor 27 points to pace the Lady Battlers while Autumn Wiesler added 16. Karly Leafgreen scored 11 points for Stanley County who fell to 1 and 8 on the season. The Lady Buffalos shot a paltry 19 percent from the field in the game.

The Potter County boys basketball team picked up their 6th win of the year as they edged the Stanley County Buffalos 65-59 on Tuesday night in Gettysburg. The game was tight throughout with the Battlers outscoring the Buffalos 24-19 in the 4th quarter to earn the victory. Dawson Simon led the Battlers with 25 points and Cole Nafziger added 21. Brady Hoftiezer had 16 points to pace 3 Stanley County double figure scorers. Joey Fischer added 14 and Slater Tople 12 for the Buffalos who fell below the .500 mark once again at 3 and 4. Stanley County plays Lyman on Thursday in the first game of the Jones County Tournmament.
