PIERRE, S.D. – Garrett Stout’s driving layup with 4 seconds left was the game winner as the Pierre Governors edged the Mitchell Kernels 52-50 Friday night in Pierre. Stout scored just 4 points in the game as both teams amassed around 20 turnovers apiece. Jack Maher led the way with 18 points for the Governors and Paul Adam came off the bench to add 17 as Pierre ended a 4 game losing streak. Mitchell led by as many as 6 before Pierre ran off 10 unanswered points to take a 4 point lead. Neither team led by more than 5 the rest of the way. Mitchell is winless at 0 and 8 on the season. Carter Jacobsen led Mitchell with 16 ponts.
