South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem recommended 2.5 percent increases in funding for state employees, healthcare providers and education when she presented her budget proposal to the State Legislature this week (Wed.).
District 24 representative Tim Rounds was happy to hear Gov. Noem is prioritizing the value of state employees.

Gov. Noem proposed using $4.6-million dollars to confront the methamphetamine epidemic in the state, a move Rounds thinks is needed.
Gov. Noem’s total budget proposal, which doesn’t include any new taxes, is $4.8-billion.
