PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Athletic Coaches Association has named their Avera Riggs High School Athletes of the Week. The two athletes named are Pierre Governor wrestler Cade Hinkle and Lady Governor gymnast Jasi Kroll. On Friday Hinkle beat 7th ranked Daynon Huber by technical fall to help earn his team a dual victory over Huron. On Saturday, Hinkle continued his winning ways by pinning Dylan Hage of Harrisburg in 14 seconds and then beating 3rd ranked Tyson Stoebner of Lennox. Hinkle did fall in the finals but only to top ranked Eli Kadoun of SF Roosevelt. Cades efforts helped his team secure a Brookings Invitational Championship. Meanwhile, Sophomore Jasi Kroll had career high scores on beam and bars at the Rapid City Triangular. In addition to improving her overall score on two events, Jasi is continuing to add new skills and improve her series connections on all events, as the season progresses. Hinkle was nominated by his head coach Shawn Lewis and Kroll was nominated by her head coach Rebecca Uhrig.
