SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Despite an undefeated dual season and ESD outright championship, the Pierre Governor wrestling team did not get any love from the pollsters who rank high school wrestling in the state. The Governors are 5th in the final regular season standings. Rapid City Stevens, a team that Pierre defeated in a dual in late January is rated number 1 in Class A once again. TEAM: 1, Rapid City Stevens 144; 2, Rapid City Central 121; 3, Aberdeen Central 115; 4, Brandon Valley 112; 5, Pierre 104; 6, Brookings 92; 7, Chamberlain 89; 8, Watertown 83; 9, Sioux Falls Roosevelt 80; 10, Huron 74; 11, Mitchell 64; 12, Sturgis 6. Individually, Chambaerlain has three wrestlers rated number 1 or 2. Nash Hutmacher is the top rated 285 lb wrestler while Collin Powell is number 2 at 126 and Maximillian Donovan is number 2 at 113. Maguire Raske is the highest rated indvidual wrestler for the Governors as he is ranked 2nd at 170.

Canton is the number 1 rated team in Class B and has occupied that spot all season long. Philip Area fell in the standings and is tied for 8th with Faulkton. The Region tournaments for State qualifying will be held this weekend throughout the state in Class A and B.
