PIERRE, S.D. – The field for the Girls State “A” Basketball Tournament is now set after Thursday night’s SODAK 16 games around the state. Lennox and McCook-Central-Montrose earned trips to next week’s State A Girls Basketball Tournament field as did West Central, Winner, S. Thomas More, AberdeenRoncalli, Todd County and Mt.Vernon-Plankinton as they were also victorious in SODAK 16 games The pairings will have top seed West Central facing Mt. Vernon-Plankinton followed by 4th seed Lennox against number 5 St.Thomas More. The other bracket has number 2 Winner taking on 7th seed Aberdeen Roncallli and 3rd seed Todd County facing number 6 McCook Central-Montrose. The State A Girls Basketball tournament will be played next Thursday-Friday and Saturday along with the Class A Boys tournament at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls.
PIERRE, S.D. – Sully Buttes became the final entrant into next weekends State Class B Boys Basketball tournament as they downed Lemmon 66-53 in the final SoDak 16 Class B Boys basketball playoff game. The game has been postponed from Tuesday night. Sully Buttes will play the final game of the first day of the State B next weekend in Aberdeen. The Chargers are the defending State Class B champions and will play Clark Willow Lake. The other first round games at the Boys State B tournament will be top seed White River taking on number 8 Viborg Hurley at noon followed by 4th seed Jones County taking on number 5 DeSmet. The evening round as number 2 Timber Lake taking on 7th seed Bridgewater-Emery followed by third seed Clark Willow Lake adn 6th seed. Sully Buttes.
