State prison inmate Cynthia Thompson has died.
Thompson reported feeling ill at the Women’s Prison in Pierre overnight. She was air lifted to a Sioux Falls hospital, where she died March 18.
Thompson, age 41, was sentenced from Lake County in December 2018 to 3 years with 1 year, 6 months suspended for unauthorized ingestion of a controlled substance.
An autopsy will be requested.
