Gov and Lady Govs Compete at ESD Indoor Meet on Thursday

BROOKINGS, S.D. – The Pierre Governor and Lady Governor Track and Field teams had their second and final scheduled indoor meet of the season on Thursday as they competed in the Indoor ESD Championship meet in Brookings in the Sanford Jackrabbit Sports Complex on the SDSU campus. The Lady Govs did not have an indvidual champion as Mack Rath was second in the shot put and third in the discus for the highest finishes on the day. Jessica Lutmer finished 4th in the 1600 meters and 5th in the 800 meter run. The 4×100 and 4×300 relay teams both had third place finishes and Emery Heiss tied for 4th in the high jump for the best finishes on the day. For the Governor boys, Paul Adam had the top high jump in the meet winning the event with a jump of 6-06. Tucker Behrens had a 4th place finish in the 800 meter run and Jack Maher had a third place finish in the Shot Put and 5th place throw in the discus. The Lady Govs were 7th in the team standings with 596 points. The girls division was won by Yankton, followed by Brookings and Watertown. The boys division was won by Watertown with the Governors finishing 6th with 600.50. All of the results are available on the link below.
