Governor Year End Wrestling Awards

PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Governor wrestling team met for one last time this year as they held their annual awards banquet Thursday night at Riggs High School. Head coach Shawn Lewis handed out awards earned by the wrestlers during the season that saw the Governors go undefeated in dual matches, win an outright ESD championship and finish 2nd at the State Class A High School Wrestling meet last month. The top awards were the Most Valuable Wrestler award which was shared by Cade Hinkle and Gage Gehring and the Brooks Monfore Heart of Champion award which was given to James Lees.
