The reservoir pool levels of the “Big 3” dams along the Upper Missouri River Basin Dam System held steady over the past 24 hours, while the levels in the lower three rose slightly.
According to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Oahe Dam reservoir remains at 1616.9 feet. Inflows are 49,000 cfs while releases are 33,600 cfs.
The Garrison Dam reservoir directly north of Oahe has inflows of 28,000 cfs and outflows of 12,700 cfs. The Fort Peck Dam at the top of the system has inflows of 17,000 cfs and releases of 6,500 cfs.
The Big Bend reservoir directly south of Oahe rose a tenth of a foot in the past day. Inflows are 39,000 cfs while releases are 36,500 cfs. The Fort Randall pool rose two-tenths of a foot. It has water flowing in at the rate of 56,000 cfs while releases are 48,000 cfs.
Gavins Point Dam at Yankton, the last point to control the rate of water flowing from the upper part of the Missouri River into the lower part, went up half of a foot in the past 24 hours. Inflows are currently 62,000 cfs while releases are 55,100 cfs.
