PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Lady Governor Golf team fired a 343 team score to finish second at the Pierre Invitational the Lady Govs hosted on Tuesday at Hillsview Golf Course. Aberdeen Central fired a 325 to win the tournament by 18 strokes. Rapid City Stevens had a 351 to finish in third place ahead of Spearfish and Mitchell who rounded out the top 5. The Individual medalist on the tournament was Aberdeen’s Cassidy Gough who fired a 1 over par 73 to claim a 5 shot victory over Rapid City Stevens Emmy Sundby. Annabelle Simpson had a 81 good for a 4th place finsih and the best round of the day for the Lady Gov golfers. Hallie Gronlund had an 84 and finished in 10th place and the other Lady Gov place winner was Kaitlyn Swensen who had a round of 88 good for 15th place. Anna Otto had a 90 for the Lady Govs while Ellie Jo Simpson came in with a 93 along with Jessa McTighe. The Lady Govs return to the course tomorrow when they travel to Aberdeen to compete in the Hub City Invitational.
