PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Athletic Coaches Association (PACA) has named their Riggs High School Avera Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 20th. Tucker Berens of the Governor Track and Field program and Jessica Lutmer of the Lady Govs Track and Field squad earned the honors. Berens had a great performance at the Pierre Legion Relays, which included 27 teams from across the state. Tucker placed 4th in the 800 and 1600. He is currently sitting 13th in the 800, 15th in the 1600 and 9th in the 400, in AA. Lutmer meanwhile put up a great performance at the American legion relays, which included 27 teams from across the state. She placed 3rd in the 1600, running the 9th fastest time in AA this year. She then back up that performance with 3rd place run in the 800. Both athletes were nominated for their award by their head coach Greg Starr.
