MITCHELL, S.D. – The Pierre Governor tennis team went 1 and 2 in a quadrangular on Monday at Mitchell. The Governors were beaten by Yankton 7-2 before bouncing back to down Vermillion 9-0. The Governors wrapped up the day with a 6-3 verdict to the host Kernels. Pierre improves to 10 and 7 in duals while Jace Wernsman at number 1 singles won all 3 of his matches on the day. The Governors will host the Pierre Invitational Tennis tournament that will begin on Thursday and run through Saturday at the Griffin Park Courts.
