PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Governor tennis team split a pair of matches on Thursday on the first day of the Pierre Invitational tennis tournament at the Griffin Park Courts. The Governors downed St. Thomas More 9-0 and then were beaten by Rapid City Christian 5-4 in the first day of dual action. Grant Judson at number 5 and Luke Liengang at number 6 singles were the only Governors to win both of their matches on the day. The Governors will play another dual today and then begin the tournament portion of the tournament later today. The tournament wraps up tomorrow.
