BROOKINGS, S.D. – Six South Dakota State University football players were recently selected as team captains for the upcoming season. Earning the distinction were: Adam Anderson, senior, wide receiver, Orlando, Florida; Logan Backhaus, junior, linebacker, Spirit Lake, Iowa; Ryan Earith, senior, defensive end, Papillion, Nebraska; Evan Greeneway, senior, offensive tackle, Yankton; Christian Rozeboom, senior, linebacker, Sioux Center, Iowa, and Luke Sellers, senior, fullback, Papillion, Nebraska. All but Rozeboom will serve as captains for the first time. Rozeboom is the third player in program history to be selected as a three-time team captain, joining Austin Sumner (2012-14) and Jacob Ohnesorge (2015-17). SDSU opens the 2019 season Aug. 29 at Minnesota, with the home opener set for Sept. 7 versus Long Island University.
