HARRISBURG, S.D. – The Capitol City Crushers U12 baseball team opened the 2019 season with a championship win at the Harrisburg Invitational on Saturday. The Crushers defeated the Dell Rapids Quarriers, Harrisburg Wildcats and West Lyons Wildcats in the one-day tournament. The Crushers put together a five-run fourth inning, led by George Stalley’s out-of-the-park homerun to reach the winning score of 7-1 over Dell Rapids in the opening game. The Crushers then downed the Harrisburg Wildcats 12-0. Colton Brady was the winning pitcher in the semi final game of the tournament. The Crushers then defeated the West Lyons Wildcats 6-1 in the title to game to secure the tournament title. Trevor Rounds hit a solo home run and a 4 run third inning was the key for the Capitol City Crushers in the title game. The Crushers next compete in the Madison Early Bird Tournament on May 18th.
