PIERRE, S.D. – 18 seniors were recognized Monday in the final home track and field meet of the season for the Pierre Governor and Lady Governor track ad field team as they hosted the Capital City Qualifier. Pierre was joined by Aberdeen Central, Stanley County, Sully Buttes, Jones County, Potter County and Dupree for the meet that basically was a meet for JV and a few varsity track and field runners for Pierre. Pierre had several good performances led by Haylee Hauck who won the 100 meter dash for the Lady Govs. Paul Adam won the boys 100 and 200 meter dash. Jessica Lutmer captured the 1600 and 800 meter runs for the Lady Govs and Emily Mikkelsen won the 400 meter dash. Tucker Berens won the boys 400 and 800 meters for the boys while Allycen Hermann took the girls 300 meter hurdles. Isabella Jackley won the 200 meter dash and Micah Moser won the girls and freshman Canyon Jones won the boys pole vault. Vick Becker won the high jump for the boys while Morgan Jones took the girls high jump title. Mack Rath won the discus with a toss of 122-05 while Jack Maher took the boys discus title with a toss of 159-03. Emry Heiss captured the girls Long Jump while Zach Lettelier took the boys Long Jump. Coby Carr won the Triple Jump and Rath and Mahar also doubled up on the first place finishes by winning the Shot Put. The Governor boys scored 295.50 to win the meet while the Lady Govs had 293.
