The Mobridge City Council met for their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday night, May 14th.
They approved the purchase of an oil distributor for the street department for patching and sealing in the amount of $19, 850.
The surplus of lost and found bicycles was approved, and the proceeds from selling them will go to the Police Positive Fund.
An increase of $1,641 was approved for an insurance payment for the K9 vehicle that was involved in a deer/car collision.
Randy Carlson was re-elected Council President, and Jeff Laundreaux was elected Vice President.
The 2019 Mayor Committee Appointments were approved with some changes – Tony Yellow Boy asked to be taken off the Library Committee because he is unable to attend their meetings. Curt Reichert said he would take on that duty. And Jade Mound replaces Randy Carlson on the Fire Committee.
Council approved the termination of an airport haying lease and the advertising for a haying lease if the lease is not paid in full by June 1st. They also plan to offer the hay to whoever wants to pick it up.
Renewal of malt beverage licenses were approved.

The certificate of completion and the final pay request on the Scherr Howe Bathroom Project were approved with the date of December 12, 2018 – the date the bathrooms were first opened to the public.

Mayor Gene Cox read several awards presented to the city for waste water operations, drinking water, and Tree City USA designation. Also, in an effort to start recognizing positive things being done by Mobridge residents, the council acknowledged the wrestling accomplishments of Cole Wellner, son of Pat & Dawn Davis.
