PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Governor Spring High School Club baseball team finished the regular season at the thrid seed in the Class A High School Baseball standings and will host a region tournament on Saturday at Hyde Stadium. Pierre will be joined by Huron, Harrisburg and Sioux Falls Roosevelt in the 4 team single elimination tournament. Pierre will open up against Huron at noon on Saturday at Hyde Stadium with Sioux Falls Roosevelt and Harrisburg playing at 2 pm. The two winners will meet at 4 pm for a berth in the State Class A final four which will be held on May 25th in Sioux Falls at Sioux Falls Stadium. Pierre did not play Huron over the course of the regular season as there doubleheader a week ago Tuesday was rained out in Huron. Pierre has beaten Roosevelt twice and split a pair of one run games with Harrisburg. Here are the Region pairings for Class A in all four regions.
At Brandon: #1 seed Brandon Valley vs. #16 Douglas; #8 Sioux Falls Washington vs. #9 Sioux Falls Lincoln.
At Sioux Falls: #2 Sioux Falls O’Gorman vs. #15 Watertown; #7 Yankton vs. #10 Brookings
At Pierre: #3 Pierre vs. # 14 Huron; #6 Harrisburg vs. #11 Sioux Falls Roosevelt
At Sturgis: #4 Sturgis vs. #13 Rapid City Stevens; # Mitchell vs. #12 Rapid City Central
