MADISON, S.D. – Cold temperatures and colder bats left the Capitol City Crushers U12 baseball team with a fourth place finish at the Madison Early Bird Tournament. Mitchell Overtime derailed the Crushers in the first game by a 4-3 score aided by 3 Crusher errors in Mitchell 3 run 5th inning. In the second game, the Crushers bats came alive in a 11-0 win over the Huron Tigers aided by an 8 run first inning. The Crushers faced the Watertown Reliabank Rattlers in the consolation championship and were beaten 13-3. The Crushers are 4-2 on the season and next compete in the Missouri River Classic in Bismarck, ND on June 7th – 9th.
