Lady Gov Golfers Finish Third at Watertown

WATERTOWN, S.D. – The Pierre Lady Governor golf team finished third on Monday at the Watertown Invitational golfed at Cattail Crossing Golf Golf Course in Watertown. The Lady Govs fired a plus 51 and finished 11 shots back of runner up Aberdeen Central. Sioux Falls O’Gorman had a plus 18 and won the tournament that featured 13 teams on the course that the State Class AA Golf Tournament will be played on in a couple of weeks. Hallie Gronlund led the Lady Govs with a 78 to finish 4th. Jessa McTighe had an 85 and Ellie Jo Simpson had a round of 86 for the Lady Govs. Anna Otto had a 90 while Annabelle Simpson had a 94 and Kaitlynn Swenson a 95 for Pierre. Jenna Sutcliffe of Sioux Falls O’Gorman fired a 71 and a 5 shot victory over Carley Kunkel. The Lady Govs will now prepare for the ESD tournament which will be golfed on Thursday at the Broadland Creek Golf Course in Huron.
