The Oahe Dam reservoir level is unchanged over the past day, while the Big Bend pool level has gone down slightly.
According to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the level of the Oahe Dam reservoir at Pierre/Fort Pierre is 1618.5 feet. Inflows are 38,000 cfs while releases are 46,600 cfs. The Big Bend reservoir at Fort Thompson is at 1419.8 feet, down two-tenths of a foot. Inflows are 42,000 cfs while releases are 45,400 cfs.
Pierre city engineer John Childs told the City Commission at last night’s (Tues.) meeting, the reservoir level at Oahe has been trending downward the past few days.
Childs says over the weekend, it switched to inflows into Oahe being lower than outflows. He says south of Gavins Point Dam at Yankton, the water is still rising in some areas along the Missouri River.
