PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Trappers could not hold a 6-1 lead as the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks scored 6 runs in the 8th inning to rally for an 8-7 win over Pierre in Expedition League baseball Thursday night in Pierre. The loss ended a breif 2 game Trapper winning streak. Pierre controled the game until the 7th inning when the Whiskey Jacks broke through. The Whiskey Jacks outhit the Trappers 8-6 in the contest and 4 Pierre errors did not help the Trappers cause. Seth Brewer and Andrew Brookings pitched the first 7 innings allowing just 2 runs but Nathan Morris did not record an out in the 8th inning as Wheat City scored 5 runs. Alex Sheetz allowed 1 run coming on relief. Pierre scored a run in the 9th inning but Cody Kehl struck out Nikko Piazza for the final out of the game. Micheal Herrera had a pair of hits and drove in 3 runs for the Trappers offensivly. With the loss, Pierre drops to 4 and 8 on the season as they begin a 6 game road trip tonight with a contest at Bradenton, Manitoba and Wheat City.
