CHAMBERLAIN, S.D. — Chamberlain racked up 19 hits as it defeated Miller/Wessington14-8 in a Pony Hills League amateur baseball game on Thursday in Chamberlain. Mike Schwartz and Riggs Priebe finished with three hits apiece, while Schwartz had 3 RBI’s to lead Chamberlain. Ryan Randall, Colton Anderson, Remington Rossow, Evan Fleury, Jake Byre and Tiegen Priebe all had multi hit games. Byre earned the win on the mound giving up two hits, four earned runs and struck out six batters in five innings of work. For Miller/Wessington, Chipper Shillingstad had two of the Outlaws six hits. Kyle Johnson was the losing pitcher as he gave up six hits, six runs (five earned) and struck out three batters in two innings. Miller/Wessington fell to 1-5 in Pony Hills League play and will travel to Four Corners on Sunday. Chamberlain improved to 2-4 in Pony Hills action and will entertain South Central Sunday in Chamberlain.
COLOME, S.D. – Justin Allen went 4-for-4 at the plate for Four Corners, scoring two of its runs as Four Corners downed Colome 5-1 in a Pony Hills League win on Wednesday night in Colome. Andrew McCloud also added two hits and two RBIs as Four Corners recorded 10 hits opn the night. On the mound, Josh Davies allowed four hits while walking six and striking out 10 batters in a complete-game effort. Dave Indahl suffered the loss for Colome, giving up five runs (four earned) and striking out four. Phil Kahler had a two-hit game for the Chaos. Four Corners host Miller/Wessington at Hayes on Sunday while Colome will travel to Wessington Springs to play the Owls.
