PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Trappers got a solid pitching performance Dom Parkhurst in his start that resulted in a Trappers 3-1 win over the Spearfish Sasquatch in Expedition League Baseball Thursday night at Hyde Stadium. Parkhurst went 7.1 innings in the start and allowed just 1 run on 9 hits to pick up the win. Nathan Morris pitched 1.2 innings of scoreless relief to pick up the save. Nate Altermatt hit his 5th home run of the season, one of 6 hits on the night for the Trappers who won for the third consecutive game and pulled to within two games of the .500 mark on the season with a 14-16 record. Spearfish starter Ben Larsen took the loss lasting 5 innings allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. The Trappers open up a 3 game weekend series tonight when the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks come to Hyde Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm with fireworks following the game. The two teams will play tomorrow night at 7:05 pm and Sunday at 4:05 pm.
