Post 8 Junior Legion Swept in Mitchell

MITCHELL, S.D. = The Pierre Post 8 Junior Legion Baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader to Mitchell on Saturday in Mitchell. Mitchell won the opener 11-5 and then came back with a 8-7 walk off win the nightcap. In the opener, Pierre was limited to just two hits as Collin Brueggeman and Gavin Neved put the ball through the infield with Nedved’s hit resulting in a pair of RBIs. Mitchell did commit 4 errors in the game that Pierre took advantage of but a 8 run second inning by the home team was too much for Pierre to overcome. In the nightcap, Pierre committed 7 errors and out hit Mitchell 8-6 in the game. Brueggeman and Jacob Larsen each had two hits while Nolan Alban and Daniel Tafoya each had a pair of RBI’s. The losses drop Pierre to 8 and 7 on the season as they travel to Huron for a 1 pm doubleheader Sunday.
