Post 8 Falls Short at Gopher Classic

MINNETONKA, Minn. – The Pierre Post 8 American Legion baseball team lost their third straight game at the Gopher Classic in Minnetonka, Minnesota on Saturday when they were beaten by the Hopkins Flyer 6-3. Andrew Coverdale had 2 of Pierre’s 4 hits in the game while River Iverson and Gray Zabel each had an RBI. Zabel started on the mound for Pierre and lasted 5 innings allowing 5 runs on 7 hits and striking out 5. The loss drops the Post 8 record to 19-17 on the season with two games to play today to wrap up the regular season against Duluth Lakeview and Elk River, Minnesota. Pierre will host the Region 3A tournament beginning Thursday at Hyde Stadium
