FARGO, N.D. – After suffering a shocking loss in his opening match, Chamberlain High School wrestling standout Nash Hutmacher raced through eight competitors in the consolation bracket to finish third in the U.S. Marine Corps Freestyle Junior Nationals 285-pound division. The Mitchell Daily Republic reports that the Chamberlain senior-to-be edged Iowa’s Spencer Trenary on Tuesday to secure his third-place finish, winning with a resounding 13-4 decision to earn All-American honors. Hutmacher was the lone wrestler from South Dakota to place in the freestyle tournament. He is a three time 285 lb. State Class A Champion who has indicated he will be attending the University of Nebraska and compete for the Husker Football program after he graduates from high school. Hutmacher will wrestle in the Greco-Roman portion of the Junior Nationals tournament. That begins today in Fargo.
