PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Trappers built a 6-0 lead and held on for a 6-2 Expedition League win over the Hub City Hot Shots Tuesday night in Pierre at Hyde Stadium. Nate Grossman and Johnny Pacheco each hit solo home runs for the Trappers who had 9 hits in the game. Zane Phelps had his team leading 47th RBI. Tyler McDonald, a recent signee for the Trappers, went the distance on the mound allowing 2 runs on 5 hits and struck out a season high 16. McDonalds was a member of the Trappers team last season. Drew Gallegos hit a solo home run for the Hot Shots. The Trappers broke a losing skid with the win and now have a 25-25 record and trail Badlands and Souris Valley by a game and a half in the second half Lewis Division Standings. The Trappers and Hot Shots wrap up their brief two game series tonight in Pierre.
