Wind, solar and other renewable energy options in South Dakota will be discussed in a community conversation in Pierre this (Tues.) evening.
Hosted by the Center for Rural Affairs, the event will be held from 6:30-8pm at the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce Community Room (800 W. Dakota Ave.)
Representatives from a variety of organizations working to advance renewable energy in South Dakota will be there to answer questions from attendees.
Groups attending include:
- Center for Rural Affairs
- Izaak Walton League
- Citizens Climate Lobby
- Clean Grid Alliance
- The Nature Conservancy
Discussion topics will cover crafting ordinances, opportunities for communities to invest in renewables, energy efficiency and more areas relating to clean energy policy. As clean energy projects are developed across the state, energy transmission infrastructure has also become a need.
The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
