PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Governor golf team fired a 349 to finish 10th in the 15 team Brookings Invitational played Monday at the Brookings Country Club course. Sioux Falls Roosevelt won the team title with a 314 which was 3 shots better than runner up Watertown and Sioux Falls Lincoln. Sioux Falls O’Gorman fired a 321 to finish 4th and Brandon Valley had a 325 t round out the top 5 teams. Jack Lundin of Sioux Falls Roosevelt won Individual Medalist honors firing an even par 72 and claimed a two shot victory over runner up Karsten Kern of Sioux Falls Roosevelt and Emmet Hanson of Brandon Valley. Pierre did not have a place winner as Carter Karst fired the best round of the day for the Governors with an 85 which tied him for 32nd. Other Governor scores included Sawyer Sonnenschein with a 87, Luke Olson finished with an 88 and Grady Klundt had an 89. Raef Briggs shot a 92 while Nick Bothun came in with a 96. There were a total of 88 players in the field. The Governors will travel to Mitchell and Lakeview Golf Course to play in the Mitchell Invitational on Friday.
