TYNDALL, S.D. — The Chamberlain girls cross country team placed three runners in the top eight on its way to capturing the title of the Bon Homme Invitational on Monday run in Tyndall. The Cubs finished with nine points, while Hartington-Newcastle (Nebraska) was second with 34 points. The Chamberlain boys were second to team champion Hartington-Newcastle, Neb. In the girls division, Allison Hough was the second-place finisher for the Cubs. She covered the distance in 19-minutes and :55 seconds while the Cubs Kinsey Evans finished third in 20:59, while teammate Ella Phillips took eighth in 22:10. Gayville-Volin’s Madison Fairley won with a time of 19:24. Chamberlain’s Dominic Santiago (18:13) finished third for the highest finish for the Cubs boys. Hartington-New Castle’s Carson Noecker won the individual race in 16:45.
