PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Fall Fastpitch Softball Team wrapped up their season over the weekend losing 3 games at the State High School B Division State tournament in Sioux Falls. Pierre dropped games to eventual State Champion Dell Rapids and runner up Vermillion as well as Tea Area. Head coach Dean VanDeWiele says while the end of the season was a downer, the season as a whole was successful with the improvement made over the course of the season.
Coach VanDeWiele says that while they lose one of their pitchers to graduation they have the mainstay of their staff back for another season.
And with the Pierre Junior High team winning their State tournament, coach VanDeWiele says that the future seems to be bright for fastpitch softball in Pierre.
