PIERRE, S.D. – Three members of the Pierre Governor boys soccer team received post season honors. Cameron Ahartz was named to the second team Class AA All State squad. The junior was the Governor goalkeeper this season. Two other players, Clayton Alban and Carsten Miller earned All ESD accolades. Alban was a senior defender for the Governors and earned All ESD honors while Miller was a junior mid-fielder who was named honorable mention All ESD. Pierre finished the season with a overall 2-8-2 record and eliminated in the opening round of the SoDak 16 by Sioux Falls Roosevelt. They had a 1-6-1 ESD Conference record on the season.

The Pierre Governor Girls had one player named to the All State Soccer teams and that was senior Janaina Zanin who was named to the first team All State Soccer squad. Zanin led the Governors in scoring this past season. Pierre finished the season with a 5-4-3 record and was the 9th seed in the SoDak 16 playoff standings losing a one goal game to Sioux Falls O’Gorman in the opening round of the playoffs after winning back to back State Class AA Girls Soccer Championships the previous two years.
