BROOKINGS, S.D. – One member of the Pierre Governor volleyball team was named to the All ESD Conference team released late yesterday (Monday) as voted on by the coaches of the ESD Volleyball schools. Senior Kenzie Kuxhaus led the Governors this season in digs and was one of the Governors most consisten servers. Conference champion Watertown had four girls named to the All ESD team. They were Alexx Bayles, McKenzie Buisker, Meghan Heggelund and Sophie Tietz. All four girls are seniors. Named from Huron are senior Havyn Heinz and junior Tenley Buddenhagen. Senior Ella Simonson and junior Brooklyn Grage of Brandon Valley were also named to the team as were Aberdeen Central junior Brooklyn Kuser and seniors Johanna Miller of Brookings along with senior Hallie Mertz of Harrisburg. Named Honorable Mention are senior Amy Uher of Mitchell and juniors Hannah Kiel of Aberdeen Central and Maggie Heesch of Watertown and sophomore Abby Miester of Harrisburg. Watertown won the ESD regular season title with a 8-0 record. Huron was second at 7-1. Pierre finished in a 3 way tie for 4th with a 4-4 conference record.
