VERMILLION, S.D. – Stanley Umude scored a season-high 28 points on 10-of-13 shooting to lead South Dakota to an 85-72 win over Western Illinois Wednesday night inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center. South Dakota also got 16 points from Tyler Hagedorn and 15 points from Triston Simpson. Western Illinois (5-17, 2-10) was led by Kobe Webster with 29 points. The win avenges an earlier loss to the Leathernecks back in late December and moves the Coyotes a half game back of North Dakota State and South Dakota State atop the Summit standings. South Dakota (19-8, 9-3 Summit) extends its win streak to eight games and stays unbeaten in conference play at home. It was the 10th win in 11 games for the Coyotes.
