PIERRE, S.D. – It will cost Pierre Riggs High and Georgia Morse Middle School athletes more this summer to take part in the weights and strength Conditioning at Riggs High School. The Pierre School Board on Monday night raised the fee from $100 to $125 per athlete. The $100 fee was not covering the cost it was taking to have the summer course and school officials say raising the fee $25 will take care of all cost associated with the program. If athletes can not afford the $125 fee there are scholarships and financial assistance available. It is totally voluntary on the part of the individual athlete but coaches at Riggs High encourage all athletes to take part in the program.
