PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Governor spring sports seasons remain on hold for at least another month. The South Dakota High School Activities Association issued a statement yesterday saying that all spring sports practices and competitions through May 3rd have been cancelled due to the COVID 19 Pandemic that is sweeping the nation. Pierre Riggs High Athletic Director Brian Moser earlier told Dakota Sports Network that coaches and players would not be contact with each other until given the ok. Boys and Girls Track, Girls Golf and Boys Tennis remain on hold in Pierre throughout the month of April when officials will meet once again to re-assess the situation. It is not known if any spring sports will be able to compete and have their state championships. Class AA girls golf is scheduled to hold their State Golf Tournament in early June at Hillsview Golf Course.
