The Fort Pierre City Council has put into writing the steps they want residents and businesses to follow to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in South Dakota.
Fort Pierre mayor Gloria Hanson says most of the precautions are already in place.
Hanson says the council is considering an ordinance that would help the city enforce Centers for Disease Control social distancing and other guidelines.
Fort Pierre residents having difficulty paying their utility bill should contact the city office.
An election for the Ward II alderman position was scheduled for next week (April 14), but Hanson says it has been postponed until June.
The Fort Pierre city offices are closed to the public, but are fully staffed. People can call or email with questions and use the dropbox for payments. Utility questions: C.Deal@fortpierre.com. All other questions: K.Tibbs@fortpierre.com.
