PIERRE, S.D. – Five players from Pierre were named to the 2020 Academic Class A All State Baseball team named by the South Dakota High School Baseball Coaches Association. The four from Pierre are Garrett Stout, Grey Zabel, AJ Goeden, Cobey Carr and Justin Houlette. All five of the players had grade point averages of 3.5 or better. The high school baseball season was cancelled this spring due to the Coronavirus (COVID 19) Pandemic.

Three players from the area were named to the Class B Academic All State Baseball team by the coaches. Hayes Miller of Chamberlain earned Academic All State honors as did Caden Lenz and Wyatt Talbott of Kimball, Landon Schulte of Platte-Geddes along with Philip Jorgenson and Joren Brunn of Winner.
