SIOUX FALLS – Augustana is the only Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference member to have more than one athlete on the CoSIDA Division II Academic All-America At-Large teams. Augie has three: junior swimmer Taylor Beagle of Lead-Deadwood, junior wrestler Ben Kelvington and senior golfer Hannah Hankinson.
Beagle, the NSIC Swimmer of the Year, is a biology major with a 3.97 GPA. She took first at the NSIC Championships in the 1000-yard freestyle, 400-yard individual medley and 1650 yard freestyle.
Kelvington is a biochemistry major with a 3.99 GPA. He was ranked ninth in the country before regionals, made Division II All-American after qualifying for the national tournament and was 15-5 last season.
Hankinson is a nursing major with a 3.94 GPA. She was the Preseason NSIC Golfer of the Year and had five top-ten and four top-five finishes through seven events in the shortened season. Hankinson was the 2018-19 NSIC Golfer of the Year.
