SIOUX FALLS – Two Augustana track and field athletes have been named to CoSIDA Academic All-America Division II Track and Field/Cross Country Teams.
Olivia Montez Brown, a senior from Chester, England who was born in Florida, earned a second-team honor. Brown had a 3.63 GPA, majoring in physical education. She won the 2019 Indoor Pentathlon National Championship, but the pandemic denied her a chance to defend that title. This season, she qualified for nationals in the pentathlon and 60-meter hurdles and earned All-America honors for both events.
Tiegen Lindner, a senior from Sioux Falls O’Gorman, had a 3.98 GPA and majored in exercise science. He was All-NSIC on the Vikings’ distance medley relay team that placed second in the NSIC Championships.
This year, Augustana has eight CoSIDA Academic All-America selections and 13 All-District honorees.
