An Aberdeen-based organization is getting a $1.8 million CARES Act grant to provide financing to small businesses and entrepreneurs in a 12 county area of north central South Dakota.
The Northeast Council of Governments will use the money to administer a Revolving Loan Fund for coronavirus-impacted businesses in Beadle, Brown, Campbell, Day, Edmunds, Faulk, Hand, Marshall, McPherson, Potter, Spink and Walworth counties.
The CARES Act provides the US Commerce Department’s Economic Development Administration with $1.5 billion for economic development assistance programs to help communities prevent, prepare for and respond to the coronavirus pandemic.
