PIERRE – The Pierre Trappers earned a 11-4 win Thursday night at Hyde Stadium over the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs in the completion of a game that had been suspended in Minot on Tuesday. Souris Valley then won the regularly scheduled game 5-0.
In the Trappers’ win, EJ Ranel doubled, singled and drove in three runs. Cooper Howell and Tyler Wiltshire had three hits each and Pierre had 19 as a team. Michael Cabeza (1-1) allowed just an unearned run and one hit in five innings.
Souris Valley’s Austin Glaze and Tanner Riley held the Trappers to only two hits in the regularly scheduled game. Both were by Tavian Josenberger. Pierre starter Dominck Parkhurst (2-3) gave up two runs and four hits with seven strikeouts in four and two-thirds innings.
The Trappers are 16-23 and will start their final road series of the regular season Friday night against the Badlands Big Sticks in Dickinson, North Dakota at 7:35 CT. After four games there, the Trappers will return home Tuesday for the last nine regular season games.
