Today’s (Aug. 10) update from the South Dakota Department of Health shows 82 new cases of COVID-19 in the state since yesterday and the death of a Hughes County resident, bringing the county’s total to three deaths.
There are:
- currently active cases– 1058
- currently hospitalized– 56
- recovered– 8691
- total cases– 9897
- total persons tested– 124,770
- total persons negative– 114,873
- total tests– 158,396
- ever hospitalized– 896
- deaths– 148
Additionally, the Department of Health asks people to answer the phone when a call shows up as “South Dakota Department of Health” or “SDDOH.” If a person doesn’t answer, contact tracers will leave a message for the person to call DOH back.
