MINNEAPOLIS – The Twins’ interleague series with the Cardinals in St. Louis in September has been rescheduled. Originally set to be played as single games on September 8 and 9, both games will now be played in a doubleheader of two seven-inning games on September 8, starting at 2:15 PM.
This change was made to accommodate the massive rescheduling of Cardinals’ games to due the team’s recent COVID-19 outbreak. As of Friday, the Cardinals had played just five games and had not played since losing to the Twins on July 29 at Target Field. Starting Saturday, the Cardinals are scheduled to play 53 games in the last 44 days of the regular season, with 11 doubleheaders.
