Tributes continue for Paul Nelson. The popular owner of the Paul Nelson Farm hunting lodge that helped make Gettysburg a popular spot for hunters, including famous ones, died August 30th when the RV he was driving was blown off the road by a tornado near Miller.
South Dakota Senator John Thune has frequently visited Nelson’s lodge. To Dakota Radio Group’s David Burrall, Senator Thune expressed his sadness at the sudden news of Nelson’s death.
Thune said that Nelson will be greatly missed.
Senator Thune said that Nelson treated everyone like a friend.
Thune said that people make repeat visits to the Paul Nelson Farm for a very good reason.
Thune pointed out other notable people that benefitted from Nelson’s hospitality.
Thune feels that Nelson’s passing leaves a very large void.
Funeral services and the burial for Nelson were held Wednesday in Gettysburg.
