(KXLG Radio)- Thursday, the Watertown Police Department arrested 40-year-old Jeremiah Peacemaker of Watertown in connection with a homicide that occurred in Watertown. The arrest was made Thursday. According to the press release, the homicide occurred in the 300 block of North Broadway Street in Watertown. Police were sent to do a welfare check and found a deceased female. They say the deceased female, Kendra Owen, was dead inside the house for several days.
Pacemaker has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of 28-year-old Kendra Owen, according to the press release. The press release says, police are unsure what the relationship status of the Peacemaker and Owens was. It does say that police do know they just recently met.

There is still an ongoing investigation and police are asking if you know any information, that you come forward. The press release says they are still trying to put together a timeline of events.
Detective Sargent Chad Stahl says there’s still a lot of work that needs to be done with this case.
Stahl said the victim had injuries that were consistent with a homicide.
The press release says Peacemaker was arrested at his Watertown home at 6:15 am Thursday morning. Stahl said that Peacemaker has an extensive criminal history. The press release says he has served time in county jail as well as prison.
According to the press release, Peacemaker is being held for a $1,000,000 cash-only bond in the Codington County Jail.
This is an on-going investigation that will be done by the Watertown Police Department and the South Dakota DCI.
