A handful of Vietnam War veterans received a commemorative lapel pin at a brief ceremony yesterday (Oct. 8) at South Dakota’s Vietnam War Memorial in Pierre.
South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson also gave each veteran a challenge coin.
Veteran Bruce McIntire of Pierre served in the Army as a Combat Engineer from 1961 to 1964.
Johnson said he was honored to give the veterans recognition for their service.
Along with McIntire, Roger Templeton, Pierre; William Marshall, Fort Pierre; Lawrence Madsen, Gettysburg; Doug Jones, Pierre; and LeRoy Madsen, Pierre were recognized for their Vietnam War military service.
